So I was awarded the Christmas Spirit Award by Sara earlier this week. It is awarded to people who really believe in Christmas and the true meaning.

1. I love that Jesus was born and all that he has done for us.

2. I love being with family this time of year

3. A Real Christmas tree...the smell is wonderful. I don't even mind the needles that fall to the floor that have to be swept up.

4. Watching the kids open their gifts on Christmas morning. Doug is included as a 'kid'.

5. I love giving goodies or small gifts to my friends. I'm grateful to them and all they do for me.

6. Traditions (we seem to add a new every couple years.) A few are: get a new Christmas book every year, open one present Christmas Eve, Fondue for Christmas Eve dinner.

End of the school year programs

These should have been posted back in June as they are the boys' end of the year programs. Bridger got to play the xylophone in a special morning ceremony in 3rd grade. This was on his birthday and he felt pretty special to be playing the morning ceremony with the 4th graders. Bridger is in a blue shirt (light blue on the bottom and dark blue on the top). Sorry, the recording is shakey. I was trying to hold Izabelle the same time I was recording.


Bryce did a Poetry reading. I didn't get any photo's as my camera battery went dead during Jessen's program that same day. Bryce did a great job for a kid that does not like to be in the spot light. Jessen's program was a Jungle theme and I records 2 of the songs: "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and "Jungle Boy". It's a combined program with the all day kindergarten and the afternoon class. Jessen is the 3rd boy from the right on the 2nd row. Thanks to his teacher, Mrs. Herzog for a great year!

Izzy's Dance Recital

I have been so busy that I haven't found the time to get this blog up to date. I've had people email and ask if every thing is okay since there hasn't been an update in a while. We are all doing fine...just had a busy summer. I'm going to play catch up now, so I'm sorry if I over load the blog.

I'm going to start with Izzy's Dance Recital. I'm posting the video but I did edit a portion out as it was so long and you couldn't see her anyway. I was so proud of her to get up there on the stage for the first time. I'm sorry for my commentary as I sound like a "getto Mom" as my sister in-law Patrice would say. I hope you enjoy the Desert Breeze Community Center 2-4 yr old Dance Class. If you are looking for Izzy she is the 6th girl in the 1st train line. The 2nd & 3rd time she is 4th in line.

Mr. Ham

The other night, 5 year old Jessen, just wasn't cooperating and going to bed. He kept coming up with reasons to get out of his bed. Finally after 30 minutes of fighting with him, I started ignoring his yelling. Jessen was laying in his bed yelling "MOM" & "MOOOOOOOM"! After several times yelling that and no reaction from me, he started spelling it. First it started out as "M-O-M"! When he had no response to that he spelled out "M-O-O-O-O-O-O-M"! I had to laugh at that one. This kid is too smart for his own good! Doug and I always joke that Jessen is the kid that will be the class clown and spend a lot of time in the principals office. It hasn't happened yet...let's hope it doesn't.

Princess Izabelle turns THREE!

I can't believe how fast she has grown. It seems like yesterday that I was going into the hospital to have labor induced. I seems like just last night that I was up with her at 3am...oh wait, I was. I guess she never has reached the "sleeping all night stage". But besides being a night owl and having her own opinions, she is an amazing little girl. I love you Iza!!

My poor husband is a book widow.

I have a serious problem. I hate reading. Let me explain, because I really don't hate reading in itself. I actually love it. That's that problem. When I get into a good book, watch out. Really. It's like I'm an addict. I can't put it down. I don't pick up a book that often, because of this big problem I have. That's what I mean about hating to read. In fact I want to make this blog short and sweet so I can get back to my book. My poor husband can't get even hold a conversation with me because I'm can't stop reading. It's so bad, that the other night, he asked me to massage his legs (sore from a Boy Scout hike on Sat.), but I made him read to me as I massaged. How pathetic is that? When I'm not reading I can't think of much else but the story. I almost feel as if I'm transported from our dimension into the book and I'm actually watching the whole story play out. Sometimes I even feel like I'm the main character. When that happens, I even feel the emotions the main character feels. I can just imagine what I look like when I'm reading. I laugh and smile and cry, just as the characters do. Does this happen to you or is it just me?

It doesn't help that the book I'm reading right now is really good. It's called Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It's a novel about vampires. Sounds weird but I really like it. Some friends and family have recommended it. They say not to start the first book until you have the second one ready. I can see what they mean. I really have an obsession when it comes to reading. It has to be a good book though. Gotta go...I want to finish the book tonight, so I can stop neglecting my family.
